Afaq — Civilizational Atlas

Afaq (آفاق) is an interactive civilizational atlas mapping the full arc of human history — peoples, polities, scholars, cities, trade routes, and ideas — across time and geography, viewed through a Muslim civilizational lens. Explore empires, caliphates, scholars, and pivotal events from prehistory to the present.

About Afaq

The atlas presents historical data across multiple thematic layers — political power, trade networks, scholarship and institutions, and religious geography — all filterable by year across a 300,000-year timeline. Each entity includes civilizational context, an Islamic paradigm reflection, and an ibrah (lesson) drawn from the civilizational record.

The name Afaq (آفاق) means "horizons" in Arabic — reflecting the atlas's ambition to map the full horizon of human civilizational experience.
